MICROBLADING NANO BROWS

FAQ

  • It is a modern way of microblading and provides a more sophisticated and natural looking eyebrow with longer lasting retention without compromising the integrity of your skin. The service is done by carefully crafting each hair stroke with a cosmetic tattooing machine compared to using a manual blade. The benefits with this service is better retention, less trauma to the skin, and a smoother healing process. This service is suitable for all skin types, but highly recommended for clients with mature skin, history of alopecia, and post chemo & radiation therapy

  • Pain is none to minimal and is dependent on the client’s tolerance. Secondary numbing will be applied as needed for comfort.

  • No. Machine hair strokes is the most natural looking style because it closely replicates your hair flow and pattern.

  • Typically 1-3 years and varies among clients.

  • This service requires a 6 week touch up, and a recommended annual refresher to maintain stroke pattern.

  • There are six colors available and color choice is based on your natural undertones and the hair color of original brows.

  • First day: Minimal swelling and redness depending on sensitivity level.

Second day: Pigment may appear darker in appearance

First week: You will experience more flaking than scabbing and it will feel itchy (start 3rd day-7th day)

Second week: May appear lighter and uneven in color (ghosting phase) due to new skin growth.

A month +: the color will continue to resurface with time until it settles into it’s true tone

PRE CARE

WHAT TO AVOID

4 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR APPOINTMENT

AVOID Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion or facials

  • DISCONTINUE Retin-A at least 4 weeks prior (and avoid on eyebrow area after procedure)

  • BOTOX AND FILLER on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be avoided 1 month prior to procedure for those who do not regularly receive injectables.

Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

 2 WEEKS BEFORE :

  • REFRAIN from use of any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products close to the eyebrow area 2 weeks prior (and avoid on eyebrow area after procedure).

 1 WEEK BEFORE :

  • AVOID sun and tanning

  • NO brow waxing, tinting, or threading (the more natural hair growth you have, the better!

 48 HOURS PRIOR:

  • NO alcohol or caffeine (Yes, there is caffeine in decaf coffee and tea)

  • DO NOT TAKE Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen

  • AVOID Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes (Shakeology, etc), “Hair, Skin, Nail” supplements.

 24 HOURS PRIOR :

  • DO NOT work out 24 hours before the procedure.

This is really to emphasize the importance of following your pre care. Pinpoint bleeding is NORMAL as seen on the left and let’s us know we are in the right depth of the skin. The bleeding on right makes it harder to properly implant pigment in, which may ultimately lead to poor healing + retention.

POST CARE

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING YOUR PROCEDURE:

The Brows will appear to be darker & bolder in color, and more sharply defined. This will last 3-4 days. The treated area may feel a bit like a sunburn afterwards, but there should only be minimal discomfort. Swelling and Redness is Minimal with most clients, and will disappear within 24/72 hours. Once cell renewal occurs, brows will look lighter and start to develop their true color.

  • Days 1-2 – Initial Reaction

Your brows are a bit swollen, red, and tender. The strokes look somewhat darker than you may have wanted. Be patient, this is not their final color.

    Days 3-4 – Scabs Form

The color is already looking lighter and you’re getting used to your new brows. A scabby film forms over the treated area, and it’s probably a bit itchy.

    Days 5-7 – Scabs Flake

    The scab peeling starts

The scabs fall off in flakes. Remember not to touch or rip off the scabs. You’ll pull out the pigments with them and your brows will heal patchy.

    Follow the prescribed aftercare routine.

Days 8-10 – My Brows Are Gone! What’s Going On?

Your brows are probably lighter than you’d expected.

This is normal – your brows are going through a ghosting stage. They look too light because your skin forms new layers over the pigment.

Days 11-14 – You Can Discontinue Aftercare

  • 4 hours post session: Take gauze and run under lukewarm water and ring out the excess water. Gently clean the brows followed by air drying them. Continue you this 2x/day until flaking appears and stop.

For 2 weeks please avoid no sweating, wetting or direct sun exposure. After flaking phase, clients may use brow make up if needed during the ghosting phase

  • As a general rule, the patient should expect to book a maintenance appointment every 12-36 months. In the meantime clients should avoid the following:

Once healed sunscreen should be applied to prevent fading when exposed to the sun.

Do Not apply any skin care products on the eyebrow area especially ones that contain Retinol, Glycolic acid, AHA’s, and Vitamin A.

Once healed eyebrows can be cleaned up (threading/plucking)

Avoid Sunbathing or using sun beds.

Avoid skin treatments such as laser treatments, microdermabrasion or chemical peels.

Certain skin conditions and or excessively dry/oily skin types may fade faster than other skin types.
