FAUX FRECKLES

FAQ

  • Faux freckles tattoos are created with pigments rather than permanent ink like regular tattoos. These pigments get deposited close to the skin’s surface, making it more suitable for treating the face and ensuring natural-looking faux freckles that will gradually fade away after several years.

  • Pain is none to minimal and is dependent on the client’s tolerance. Secondary numbing will be applied as needed for comfort.

  • No. Permanent makeup in general is not meant to replace makeup or look like a tattoo. It is meant to heal soft and natural like real freckles.

  • With proper care your freckles can last 2-3 years. HOWEVER, since everyone has different body chemistry and lifestyle we can't guarantee the duration of results.

  • The first session does most of the work, but a touch up 6-8 weeks later is mandatory. As your skin heals from the initial needling, a certain amount of pigment is extracted and the freckles lighten 30-40%. The touch up is there to add more pigment and darken them up, and it ensures the results last longer.

It’s also good to note that it’s always better to go lighter on the first session and darken up the freckles at the touch up, when the artist can assess how well your skin retains pigments, than to go too dark and regret it.

  • They can be done on the nose, cheeks, temples, chin, anywhere on the face.

While most clients want round-shaped freckles that look natural, it’s also possible to get particular shapes, like stars or hearts. Some clients want their freckles placed in a specific pattern – getting your astrological constellation in freckles is something that’s very popular.

  • The dots will appear slightly swollen and dark immediately after tattooing, side effects typically start to dissipate after only a few hours

  • The appointment can take anywhere from 1-2 hours. The artist consult, and pre draw the freckle placements before the session begins.

  • We do NOT perform any cosmetic tattooing on anyone who is pregnant or nursing as a precaution.

  • Faux freckles tattooing is suitable for all skin colors and types. Whether you currently have freckles and want to add more or are naturally non-freckled, this treatment is an excellent option. As long as your facial skin is in a good, healthy condition, you should be a good candidate.

  • -Skin sensitivities and allergies are always taken into consideration on an individual assessment. The majority of clients with skin sensitivities or allergies are minor and eligible for tattooing, only resulting in a mild redness of the skin that subsides within an hour or two post-treatment.

-Allergies to cosmetics, latex or numbing agents (such as Lidocaine, Tetracaine) should always be disclosed with us prior to your appointment.

  • Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be avoided 1 month prior to procedure for those who do not regularly receive injectables.
